Women Ministry Welcome Message: Village life in Israel ceased, ceased until I, Deborah, arose, arose a mother in Israel. Judges 5: v7. It is my strongest belief that God had a specific purpose for creating man and woman. His purpose was made so that we could fulfill the roles he designed for us. What a wonderful and marvelous gift has been given to woman from God. As women we have a responsibility to serve our families, our spouses, and our children. Beyond our immediate family and Church ministry we are also responsible for developing and supporting the next generation of leaders. A good example of this can be seen in the faith exhibited by Moses’ mother when she hid her baby boy for three months, knowing that he might be killed by Pharaoh. When Moses entered Pharaoh’s household, Pharaoh’s daughter needed someone to breastfeed Moses. This is when Moses’ mother stepped in. As a result of this situation Moses’ mother was able to train her son in the Word of God. The influence demonstrated by Moses’ mother is evident in Moses’ decision to suffer with the captive and enslaved people of Israel. As such, God raised Moses to become a great leader of Israel. As women of God, we should also know that our ministry extends beyond just our children. We are present to support and encourage our spouses to become individuals and leaders that command respect and attention in our communities (Proverbs 31:10-31 “…Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land…” The wife of noble character mentioned in the book of Proverbs confirms for us the need to share and have sisterly fellowship that provides support for one another. Our Purpose: To see revealed the spiritual gift of grace indwelled in us. To witness the handiwork of God in the lives of our children, our families, our ministry, and our Church. Our Program: The Women’s Ministry meets once every two months for an overnight prayer meeting. Once a year, we hold a Women’s Conference. Our ministry is not confined to Church programs only. If there are any women who desire we pray with them, you can contact us personally or through the Church telephone number. If there any unmarried women that are interested in us praying for them, we will pray for them. I am also willing to pray with women who may be having martial problems and desire to pray with one, or two other people, Our deepest desire and prayer is to see women in our Church and in other Churches emerge to be the women of God they are called to be. To become women like Abigail who protected her husband and her family from perishing. To emulate the Shunammite woman who was able to discern men of God “…I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God” 2 Kings 4:9. There are other examples of women of God such as Deborah. Deborah was a married woman and as such was subject to the same kind of marital problems we encounter today. However, Judges talks about how village life in Israel ceased, until Deborah arose as a mother in Israel. We may not be subject to the same kind of wars fought in Deborah’s time. In today’s world we fighting a spiritual warfare against the enemy and we continue to pray that women of God would arise to fight this battle. I call on my fellow women to arise. To arise knowing this requires a sacrifice. We need to stand up for the Kingdom of God that is everlasting. Let us be like David that we may in our lifetime fulfill the desires of God’s heart. I pray that God’s Spirit will enable you in your thoughts and decisions. I pray that you would be renewed and that God would show what to do. I pray that you would be women of God that bring about change in your homes as well as your Church. I pray that people would look at you and say, “Truly she is a woman of God.” God Bless.
