
Background Information
In cognizant of the suffering of Children and envisioned by senior Pastor of Ethiopian Evangelical Church of Minnesota, Agape International Children and Family Support Center (AICFSC) was founded in November 2001 through full sponsorship by the well regarded and philanthropic Church members of Ethiopian Evangelical Church of Minnesota.
Mission
Agape International Children and Family Support Center (AICFSC) was established primarily to assist orphaned Children. The children AICFSC assists are primarily orphans in difficult circumstance such as those who have lost their families due to war, drought, HIV/AIDS and other calamities. This organization undertakes various projects to assist these children with their basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and health care in the short term as well as access to education and alternative forms of living accommodations in the long-term that will allow them to break the cycle of poverty.
This organization also undertakes various projects to assist needy families to lessen the suffering of children in these families.
Objective
The overall objective of AICFSC is to assist orphaned and needy children below 15 years of age and their families by:
Granting food aid and fund the cost of health care and education
Training parents for self-employment and assist them to form a cooperative
Counseling parents about child raising
Constructing public latrines, pipelines, and environmental gardening
Arranging tutorials, entertainment programs and psychological treatment for Children
Acquainting parents about family planning, HIV/AIDS, etc.
